Steve Solomon joined PJH & Associates in August 2020 as a Principal, after 35 years with Exelon and ComEd. Most recently, he was the Vice President, Corporate Relations and President, Exelon Foundation, where he oversaw the company’s corporate relations activities including: corporate contributions, civic sponsorships, employee philanthropy and volunteer programs, and the Exelon Foundation. During his time with the company, he also managed advertising, corporate communications, and media production services, led change management initiatives, created The Power House, a 30,000 square-foot hands-on energy museum, and helped establish the Exelon Foundation.
He currently serves as a trustee for Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where he is the past board chair and past development chair, as well as a trustee for the Chicago History Museum (CHM) and the National Energy Education Development Project. He was appointed by the Governor of Illinois to the Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service. He has extensive experience with not-for-profit boards including: ADA25 Advancing Leadership, Chicago Children’s Museum, Chicago High School for the Arts, CHM Making History Awards, Ingenuity’s Creative Schools Fund leadership, John C. Dunham STEM Partnership School, Morton Arboretum, Rowe-Clark Math and Science Academy, Shedd Aquarium, and United Way of Metropolitan Chicago campaign cabinet.
Solomon is a graduate of Illinois State University, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in communications. He has received numerous awards including Association of Fundraising Professionals Professional Grantor Award. He lives in Glen Ellyn with his wife Robin and they have two grown children.
