A native Ohioan, Jen Irwin has been with AmeriCorps since 2009. During that time, she served as a Program Officer working with Ohio AmeriCorps Seniors and AmeriCorps VISTA project sponsors. After graduating from Baldwin-Wallace College with a degree in business administration she started in the banking industry. Wanting to do more for her community, she decided to change careers and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA. After her service, she then pursued an M.Ed. from Kent State University and worked under a Learn and Serve America grant as a Program Director at a nonprofit.
While at AmeriCorps, Jen has worked on many projects and teams that have advanced the mission of the agency. Most notable are her work on analyzing and rewriting the AmeriCorps Seniors Program regulations, implementing the agency’s National Performance Measures, serving as a team lead and coordinator for multiple virtual and in-person, state-based and national training events for AmeriCorps Seniors, and evaluating AmeriCorp’s business processes for the Transformation and Sustainability Plan.
