The Office of the
Illinois State Fire Marshal (OSFM) and the Illinois Department of Commerce and
Economic Opportunity (DCEO) teamed up to host a webinar about a funding
opportunity for local governments across Illinois as part of the Local CURE
Support Program that will help pay for COVID-19 expenses. If you missed the
live webinar, no worries, you can view it by clicking here or on the image below.
Slides from the webinar are available here for viewing or download.
DCEO has released an application for local governments that are not counties, municipalities, public health departments or school districts. The application can be accessed on the program website or by clicking here to go directly to the application. There are currently millions of dollars that we hope to distribute across the state.
The Local CURE Support Program provides reimbursements to units of local government for COVID-19 related expenses. These expenses include medical expenses, public health expenses, payroll expenses, expenses to facilitate compliance with COVID-19 relation public health measures and other necessary expenses related to COVID-19.
We know how critical these resources are for fire protection districts, firefighters, and the communities they serve. For more information, please visit our Local CURE website here: https://www2.illinois.gov/dceo/Pages/CURE.aspx
