​Firefighter/EMT Training Considered “Essential” 

The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has been designated by the Governor to determine what is considered "essential" under the existing Emergency Order.  The link attached explains their determinations and in the FAQ section note that firefighter and EMT training has been designated as essential. IDPH guidelines for social distancing and hygiene should be taken into consideration during training.

On Thursday, May 14th, Illinois Fire Service Agencies came together in a forum to provide an update to the fire service about their operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fire Marshal Perez provided the industry on the latest OSFM operations and continued efforts to help provide needs of the fire service.
