The Illinois wine industry has exploded in recent years, growing from just 12 wineries in 1997 to 106 today. Today the Illinois wine industry creates a direct economic impact to the State of Illinois of more than $700 million annually, paying more than $90 million in taxes and stimulating wine related tourism expenditures of more than $55 million. The 106 wineries that span Illinois have also brought with them a host of charming bed and breakfasts, restaurants and local crafts businesses. The Illinois Grape Growers and Vintners Association invite you to discover the genuine culture of Illinois Wine Country here at the Illinois Wine Experience.
