  • ​Veterans Nursing Assistant Certified (VNAC) $2951.00-$4124.00
Application Process:      An employment application must be completed and forwarded to Central Management Services (CMS) to obtain a grade for the title you are seeking.  Once a grade is received, your name is placed on an eligible list for one year.  During that year when a facility has vacancies, they will request this eligible list and contact individuals to come interview.  If you are not contacted within the year, you will need to reapply by submitting another application to CMS.

  • Licensed Practical Nurse 1 $3319.00-$4720.00
  • Licensed Practical Nurse 2 $3319.00-$4720.00

Application Process:    An employment application must be completed and forwarded to the facility you are attempting to gain employment.  When the facility has vacancies to fill, they will review the applications on file and contact individuals to come interview with them.  If the applicant possesses a degree higher than an Associate’s degree, then a copy of the degree and/or transcripts must accompany the application.

  • Support Service Worker $2700.00-$3641.00
Application Process:    An employment application must be completed and taken with you to a testing center.  This title requires passing a written test.  Testing centers, along with days and times the tests are given, are listed within the application.  Grades received are valid for one year.  If you are not contact within the year, you will need to retake the test.

  • Veteran Service Officer $3647.00-$5342.00
Application Process:    Veterans preference must first be established with Veterans Outreach.  You may call 217-524-1313 to find out what needs to be done to establish this (submission of a DD214).  After veteran’s preference is established, a CMS100 Employment Application must be completed and submitted to CMS Examining and Testing to obtain a grade.  The following criteria must be met in order to be eligible to obtain a grade for this position: 
(i)    The veteran must have served a total of at least 6 months

(ii)    The veteran served for the duration of hostilities regardless of the length of engagement.

(iii)    The veteran was discharged on the basis of hardship.

(iv)    The veteran was released from active duty because of a service-connected disability and was discharged under honorable conditions.

Once a grade is received your name is placed on an eligible list for one year.  During that year when there is a vacancy, the agency will request this eligible list and contact individuals to come interview.  If you are not contacted within the year, you will need to reapply by submitting another application to CMS.
