Footsteps of My Father: An Evening with Pastor Chris Edmonds

October 17, 2019, 6:30 – 8:00 PM

Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center

9603 Woods Drive, Skokie, IL 60077

Pastor Chris Edmonds is the son of WWII hero Master Sgt. Roddie Edmonds, whose extraordinary courage saved the lives of more than 200 Jewish American soldiers in a prisoner of war camp in Germany. This act of bravery would have been forgotten and lost to history, had it not been for the rediscovery of Edmond's private diary by his son Chris, and a chance encounter with one of the surviving Jewish American P.O.W.s. In 2016, Roddie Edmonds was posthumously recognized by Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations. He was the fifth American to be recognized and to-date the only American solider awarded this honor.

Join us as Pastor Chris Edmonds take us along his journey as he followed the footsteps of his father, discovering the truth about the brutality inflicted on captured Jewish American G.I.s. and his quest to discover the POWs and their families who benefited from his father's actions. As founder of Roddie's Code, Pastor Chris is committed to extend the legacy and leadership of Master Sgt. Edmonds by inspiring heroes everywhere to work towards a better world.
