Governor, Office of the
The Illinois Constitution, Article V, Section 8, states that "The Governor shall have the supreme executive power, and shall be responsible for the faithful execution of the laws." The purpose of the Office is to ensure proper execution of the laws in Illinois.
Secretary of State, Office of the
The office’s functions are described in the Illinois Constitution, mainly addressing the Secretary of State's duty to maintain official state records and the state seal. However, law and tradition have assigned many additional responsibilities to the office, which has one of the largest and most diverse collections of responsibilities of any of its counterparts nationwide.
Comptroller, Office of the
As Comptroller, Mendoza plans to help the State get itself back on track financially in a way that doesn’t put the burden on the backs of the working-class families. She will be an independent, truth-telling, fiscal watchdog that prioritizes both the fiscal and moral health of the State. Mendoza will work to enhance the overall internal control environment of the State to run a more effective, transparent and efficient office.
Central Management Services, Department of

Financial and Professional Regulation, Department of

Revenue, Department of
The primary responsibility of the Department of Revenue is to serve as the tax collection agency for state government and for local governments. The department regulates the manufacture, distribution, and sale of alcoholic beverages. The department also oversees local property tax assessments, and functions as the funding agent for the Illinois Housing Development Authority.
