Function:The Committee develops the curriculum and fixes the location for a training institute established to meet the needs of municipal clerks and their deputies. Non-for-profit organization that charges for training, but are not appropriated funds by the Comptroller – self-sufficient.

Qualifications:Each member appointed by the Governor after the effective date of this amendatory Act of 1987 shall be a certified municipal clerk recommended by the Executive Board of the Municipal Clerks of Illinois and serving as a municipal clerk at the time he or she is so recommended and appointed.

Composition:6 Members - 5 municipal clerks or deputy clerks appointed by Governor recommended by the Executive Board of Municipal Clerks of Illinois. - 1 ex-officio member appointed by the governing board of any public college or university in this State at the request of the Executive Board of the Municipal Clerks of Illinois. The term of the ex-officio member may be designated by the governing board of any public college or university in this State at the request of the Executive Board of the Municipal Clerks of Illinois. Such ex-officio member shall serve at the pleasure of the governing board designating them to membership on the Committee.
