Please be advised that Governor Pritzker has joined the actions of President Biden and declared Friday, June 18, 2021, to be a Holiday for all State of Illinois employees.
In light of this declaration, the offices of the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission will be CLOSED for ALL business on Friday, June 18, 2021, to commemorate the Juneteenth Holiday.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth, short for June 19th - highlights the day in 1865 when news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached what was believed, the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston Texas.
We join all in the celebration of this National Holiday.
