The Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) has recently updated its administrative rules, which, in part, updates the adopted life safety code from the NFPA 101, Life Safety Code (2000 Edition) to the NFPA 101, Life Safety Code (2015 Edition). These changes become effective on January 1, 2020. The text of the new rules, fact sheets, links to training opportunities, and other information are available at the links below.

Municipality Notice Regarding Applicability of Life Safety Code
OSFM is offering free training workshops to local AHJs to learn about the changes from the NFPA 101, Life Safety Code (2000 Edition) to the NFPA 101, Life Safety Code (2015 Edition).
These workshops are limited to the first 50 to pre-register with a maximum of 2 persons allowed from each jurisdiction.
All registered attendees will receive a copy of the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, 2015 Edition.
NFPA representatives as well as OSFM personnel will be on hand to provide information specific to the newly adopted code and amendments.
To register, choose the location you wish to attend, and click on the registration link and fill out the information. You will receive a registration form to print out when completed.
Additional workshops are planned for 2020.
