The Grandstand was rebuilt in 1927, and is known for holding an assortment of concerts, horse and automobile races. The north and south interiors accommodates vendors, displays and organizations.
The Illinois racetrack, known as one of the fastest dirt tracks in the world, hosts a large venue of great horse racing at this year's fair.

Each year, the Illinois State Fair Twilight Parade marches proudly announcing the ten day annual showcase of Illinois Agriculture and unique entertainment. This year's parade begins on August 8th at 5:30 p.m.
