Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund
Governor JB Pritzker joined the United Way of Illinois and the Alliance of Illinois Community Foundations today to announce the launch of the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund (ICRF), a new statewide fundraising effort to support nonprofit organizations serving those whose lives have been upended by this pandemic. The ICRF is launching with nearly $23 million in initial donations. In the upcoming weeks, the steering committee will evaluate and disburse funds to the initial wave of charitable organizations serving at-need communities across the entire state. All donations and distributions will be available to the public. More information can be found at

Serve Illinois
Millions of Illinoisans rely on the kindness of others each and every day. That shouldn’t change just because you’ve been asked to stay home. It just takes a little creativity.
Serve Illinois is in the process of providing CDC guidance to service organizations across the state. That includes daily health surveys and temperature checks for all volunteers and staff, the disinfecting of surfaces at each shift change, and ensuring that any group work involves fewer than 10 people — all with proper social distancing parameters.
This is
not a free pass to violate the Stay at Home order. This is an opportunity for healthy college students looking for something to do, or individuals who aren’t able to work from home—an opportunity for people who are healthy and looking to help.
If that’s you, register on the Serve Illinois website and the organization will connect you with opportunities based on their needs.

Blood Donation
As this situation has evolved, the American Red Cross has seen blood drives cancelled across the country — when tragically, a blood shortage would only worsen the health care crisis we are facing right now.
That’s why we’re encouraging healthy, eligible individuals to donate blood.
